I had a Yaris courtesy car, 1litre thing. Was very very comfy for a 1litre and much much better than a Corsa 12v. Good build quality. Centre dials/electronic speedo pissed me off though. Continuously flickered i.e. going up and down 1mph and couldn't see it with Polarized sun glasses on 
Corsa D's for under £6k are going to be a bit rough imho.

imho, the current owner is very very dim, or there is something wrong that they aren't letting on 
Oh and apparently 1.2 16v Corsa D is worse than a 12v Corsa B 'cause of the weight. If she goes 1.2, it would have to be a C imho.

You can get Clio 1.2 Turbo's Dunno how much they cost though.
