I think if I had 5-6k to play with I'd being buying a silver CTR and doing the wheels anthracite.
GSi is a different car to CTR IMO. GSi is smooth, less frantic better for long journeys better screwed together inside.
I REALLY like CTR's now Unbelievable turn of events.

That's the thing, if you have a gsi and some wonga to spend you could see a 280-290 brake car with about 3k ?
vxr turbyo £500
miltek full system £1000
pace cooler £500
IPF £500
Few other goodies like inlet cam and airbox mod's etc £500

I'd concentrate on some KW Varient 3 Coilovers, camber adusting bolts, Whiteline rear ARB, brake upgrade, before more power.

You can adjust the camber on kw's I would go for eibach coilover's over KW though. Get some breake's from a VXR, i think the rear's fit too

and what model and power is this astra sport making? my old 1.8 sri astra looked like it was going backwards when a CTR overtook me at low speeds and kept going, my old astra was pretty much the same as a mates mk4 sport...

i was looking at them before i bought my teg. they're very nice cars but i just don't think it was "for me" as i had my heart set on a DC2, but thus is life
don't know how much you'd need to spend on charging a civic, but you'd probably get a nice jackson supercharger fitted for that much, probably wouldn't see the same power gains, get a nice bit of midrange grunt which is nice though. whine like a bitch in VTEC too
i'm a fan of the clio's too, theres a georgeous baby blue cup round the corner from me lowered on white wheels, it makes me go weak at the knees

lets say for arguments sake that my DC2 is about the same as a civic type r, in race between myself and a 1.8 astra sxi, providing i stayed below 5700rpm we were neck and neck. the same race revving all the way to the redline and it was a very different story indeed

thats the thing with the civic i cant be bothered driving round every where in the red line to get it to go any where, id rather have the feel of the turbo.

Had an Arden GSi now got a Clio 182 two different kettles of fish.
For me Clio floats my boat and the Astra was just plain dull.
Each to their own and all that malarky.
