This whole thread is a fail, mid only tells you if it's insured or not, not engine size.
Yes Mid does. But on the same page, you can check alot more than insurance details.
how exactly?
Have a nosey. Not all mods can be checked, but the main 1 which this post is about(engine conversions)can.
No it can't. I've typed in a few peoples reg's who have 2 litres corsa's. All gone through the DVLA as 2litre, through the insurance as 2litre and taxed as a 2litre. Still comes up as a 'corsa sport' or so on.

Mid is very accurate.Try it.Cancel your insurance and ask when it will be cancelled from then check on Mid if its been canceled.
Thats another reason to check.Gives peice of mind to wether or not your car is showing up on the database.

Your digging a massive hole. If people dont want to declare mods/engines, so be it. It's them that will get bummed, not you.
Stop being a nosey cunt.

I am just giving people a heads up as to what can be checked nowadays.
Itl maybe make them think twice about what they are doing.
What if some1 posted up saying they have just converted theyr car but for £££ costs, they are just going to chance it and keep it declared as a 1.2 8v.Would everybody jump on the bandwagon and give them a hard time????YES they would. What im doing is making them aware that things like that can be checked.

Its not very accurate at all. I've just tried my car and a few of our families. 3 apparantly aren't insured and one is a car that we sold about 4 years ago.

Times have changed then as when i canceled my policy, the ins company said it would be canceled by 3.15pm(enough time to get me home)
Quick check on Mid at 3.20pm to make sure they had canceled it,and guess what, they werent lying.

Well thats up to the owners to get on the phone and ask why it aint coming up to save the hassle of getting stopped and the car impounded.

Most cop cars scan hundreds of cars a day to make sure there insured. Im sure in the time that Joe's family have had there 'uninsured' cars, they would of been stopped by now

Not really, as we are all covered. So why would they impound the car? I'm just saying, you can't go off what that site says as there will always be exceptions.
