Totally and utterly pointless. Complete arse to fit and would ruin the drive.

Blimey Ollie, that's quite a statement.

Is it an 1800 or a turbo?

Looks very smart in the silver with the Mundano rims.

1800 mate, gorgeous to drive and it's so revvy, comparable to a 106 GTi

That's good to hear.

The 1.8 is probably a nice combination of bore and stroke hence it's lovely free revving nature. Probably beats the 2 litre on that front.

Have you done anything with the bushes, dampers etc Ol, or is it just that good out of the box?

I've replaced EVERYTHING

Since I got it, it's had all new genuine Ford stuff which wasn't easy to get hold of

UJ
Steering rack
Track rod ends
Lower arms with ball joints
4 CV boot gaitors
Anti Roll Bar link arms
Clutch cable
Top Mounts
Suspension kit
Disks & pads

When I got it, it was like driving a floppy cock, now its wonderful

I just need to do the anti roll bar bushes and rear beam bushes and it will all be brand new.

Lovely car, but prefferred it with the old wheels. Those ones look like castors on it IMO.

yeah that will be one of the first things i will be changing when i get it, and proberly the only.. unsure weather to get a rs turbo one with the vents in though

[Edited on 26-12-2008 by sumner2k3]

have a think about this as a few people will do this to aid cooling as theres a lot more engine in there and it wont half get hot.. personaly i would remove them and stick a more efficiant rad in there with a cold running stat to help this out..

my mate had a xr2i and that was a fun car to drive not as quick as this one is and the only problems it had were rust on the wing around the fuel filler, and the rear chassis rails cracking.. other than that the are really sound cars love to have a nice fiesta MK3 RST or XR2i so many things you can do to ford engines and they are pritty cheep to mod aswell.. really quite reliable, and pritty easy to work on..

oh only thing i ever came accross that was a regular problem on the rs200 engines were egr's and the PAS pump pipes from the pump leaking or going into the rack leaking.. other than that they are sound as a pound

sorry cant be arsed to edit me post.. set of rs vents in the bonnet will look good... just make sure they are done propperly as it will help with the cooling... can i ask the engine seems higher up the gearbox end than it does the front pully end.... or is that just the photos?

when i said about changing the bonnet when i get it, i didnt mean changing the bonnet raisers for cooling, i meant changing it because its got a slight badboy and the line has been smoothed out mate

Looks nice.As said before rust is the main thing to check for, especially as it has the arches and skirts fitted, they trap water and rot through.Especially the rear arches. Ive heard the I4 engine isnt all that tunable, which is why its not a popular conversion. I had a 2.0 zetec in my old xr2i, miss that car alot

Picture for old times sake

Talk to me about what you have done with your foglights? I need to do something similar as one has cracked.

I unclipped the spotlights and binned them as one was cracked and the other didnt work. As it was black you couldnt really see the valance behind, with yours being silver it might be more noticable. Some people put black mesh where the lights were.

I need to have a looksie at mine then. I'll do the same as you can't get hold of the foglights anymore as I'm sure you're aware.

I did replace my fogs at one point,i got some second hand.Try fiestaturbo.com in the for sale bit, theres usually loads for sale in there,or ebay.Trouble is they are going for £25 upwards these days. It's cheaper and looks better to take the spotlights out imo
