My dad was saying before that there's a fella at work known as Sid because no-one can pronounce his real name and he is also lovingly known as The Terrorist 
So there are some foreigners that can have a laugh  shocking, I thought they all just cried anytime someone said anything even close to derogatory 
I know of some foreigners that have moved over here and say it's getting stupid, it really is a VERY small minority that seem to get offended by it but the government have just made every phrase that involves colours 'racist' just incase this minority MIGHT be offended. 
But to show how bad it is they put it all over the tv  Yeah people are offended by the word paki so we'll tell the whole country that Prince Harry has said paki and that paki is a bad word and you should never ever say paki because paki is an evil word that causes offence.
Note: Paki is a bad word.
I think that's around the same number of times I've heard it on the news today
Such a bad word yet they repeat it over and over

In South Africa, everyone calls each other a Nigger - They even have the Nigger carnival so why is it seen as offensive in the UK?

I plan to move back to Sao Paolo permanently within the next 2 or 3 years, I've got my kids to think about.

At a place I used to work at a couple of years ago I had a mate there (a British Sikh to be P.C.) and he used to refer to Muslim Asians as 'pakis', although in a racist way...

No its not offensive.
But the term Paki has been used as an insult for a long time.
As a Royal Prince, aire to the throne and to be king of our country, I don't think he should be saying things like that, even jokingly.
Its a position he is born into and is raised to act acordingly, so as a prince, no I wouldn't expect it and he shouldn't have said it.
But yes, also, its new, so the press will have a field day with it.
