What exactly do you use these media centres for.
My mrs works for AMD and somebody there is building us an all sinnging/dancing one for free, and I dont know exactly what you can do with them

It's just a pc that's plugged into your tv, normally used for watching films.

So you can download films to the hard drive and save them? play dvds,blueray,cds etc?

Anything yuo can do with a normal pc, that's all it is.
It'll play dvd's and blurays if it's got a dvd or bluray player.

Yes, as of a few days.
Dont get me wrong, I loved my media pc setup at the time, but theres no chance id go back.
Theres no messing around with a proper media streamer, no drivers, no windows update each week, no need to reboot, no video stuttering
Its certainly the way forward.

I have allot divx films, music, pictures and this way can link it all to my tv. Much better
