Hi Guys

Well i got it done at 6pm last night...

I'll start from the begining

At first i seen the surgeon who talked me through it. I had the Laisk plus with Wavefront and correction etc etc..the best really.

I got sat in a room and had to put on a mesh hat and shoe covers and had one of my eyes covered up! looked a right twat I had anaesthetic drops put in too.

Then into the room and lay down on the table were there are two laser machines.Because i had the Lasik it means they jam a big white ring into your eye socket to make it protrude then a big sucker locks itself onto the eye and the first laser starts to cut the cornea to make a flap. You can see all this happening BTW but can't feel it Wierd

The they slide you over the the daddy laser which in 3 stages just buzzes at your eye and you smell a slight burning smell but nothing bad.

Then they put the flap back over your eye...fire a shit load of drops and water in there and move on the next eye

All in all it took about 12 minutes in the room!! VERY wierd experience but pretty painless just uncomfortable

Sat in a darkish room for a bit with a drink...had a quick check up then left.

On the way home in the car (my wife took me : ) ) the anaesthetic wore off and i just couldn't open my eyes if my life depended on it i had my shades on and it was night but still couldn't.Went home and straight to bed as it was pissing me off by then..had a quick sleep..woke at 9 to put my 3 sets of drops in then back to sleep till 9 today.

After the surgery my vision was very cloudy and my eyes felt a bit gritty. When i woke this morning the cloudyness was gone and my vision showed signs of getting back to normal eyes are still a bit sore but now they feel pretty much fine! There is a massive difference in my vision and it's loads better than when i wore contacts (it's now 20/20 in my right eye and even better in my left already)but it's hard to focus on things and he said today it takes 3 months to get the perfect vision they are happy with..if it gets better than this then i will be even happier

All in all a pretty painless and very professional procedure from Ultralase in Chester.Oh and it cost me £3,700 Worth it though IMO

I used to wear contacts so i'm used to touching my eyes etc so i suppose it wasn't too bad for me

My prescription was -1.25 in each eye.

20/20 is the best they expect from a person with very good eyesight ie what you need to be a fighter pilot.

How is it worked out? how well your eyes can adjust from far to close things without being blurry?

My mate went for the consultation on the sunday & got his appointment for the following Friday!!

He agreed to travel 150 miles right enough for it & they took £100 off for his travel!!

Another guy at work was around a month!

Very tempted to have it done, 4-5 people I know/on thee net have had it recently & nothings went wrong!!

I'd also really like this done. I'm having a new eye test on Wednesday so will be asking about it then. Only problem is...i really don't like things near my eyes. I have tried contact lenses and i feinted 3 times just trying to put them in at the optitions...are they just going to tell me laser eye is not for me..unless you can be knocked out for it??
