That isnt my argument, they may well be.

Im more pointing out that you can compare Rafa's start to Fergie's start and say he has done the better job - even though United fans will pretend to be pleased about him signing up for another 5yrs.

Plus if you lot are so happy as he is suc a questionable manager - makes you wonder how he managed to organise a team to beat United by their biggest ever margine at home since the PL began.

It was one fucking game, get over it already

Happy, but he needs cash for some more quality players in positions we are lacking in, if he had confidence in being able to line up his best or very nearly best team every game (like for like cover) I would have thought he'd generally be a bit more positive and be able to break down teams who sit behind the ball. I think he'll win the league within the next 3 years if he's given enough money.

Is it? Who have you brought through in recent years?

Ronaldo, those two ugly buck-toothed twins, Jonny Evans? The only one you can slightly claim in Welbeck, and even he only signed back in 2006.

I dont consider spending £30m+ on Rooney, £18m on Nani, £18m on Anderson, Tosic and that other one for £18m, etc. etc. as a youth development policy

Richard Eckersley has been featured a few times. James Chester has been in the squad. Darron Gibson, although he's Irish.

So in other words you havent brought anyone through the youth system who has been a regular since the likes of O'Shea or Fletcher?

I havent said we have though - not that Im saying YOU said it, but Fergie and A1EX above seem to think you have some amazing youth set up.

Fergies recent comments about spend actually made me laugh....

Of course we have spent more, we are chasing you, but our net spend is actually almost identical. Difference is we have had to spend on a huge number of players to build a squad in the last 5yrs, where as Fergie had built his prior to the 5yrs and is now just adding to it year on year spending a similar net amount.

And his youth comment...well we've just shown that is a load of rubbish.

We are bringing in youth, but as you know we're paying for it!

Anderson and Nani didn't come cheap!

And Foster was poached!

Exactly, and thats what we are doing too, the amount of youth players Rafa has bought since coming here must run into the 40's - thats the whole reason we've won the Youth cup twice in last 3yrs and reserve league last year...hence why Fergie's comments are laughable.

Theres really only one manager who can genuinely say he has a working quality youth development system, and thats wenger. as cosmo says, spunkign £20-30m on young players is not a youth development programme and that includes ronaldo at £12.25m :/

I dont see anything wrong with spending on young players then developing them for the future into a team. I think i worded what i meant incorrectly

Buying kids for £18m and other stupid amounts like that is not youth development

Having kids coming through from 14 upwards is youth development.

Hang on, isn't liverpools much the same?

They are buying hundreds of south american kids aren't they?

Don't hear much about kids coming through liverpools youth development either?

Read above, Im not the one saying we have a youth policy - Fergie and A1EX (although he has said he worded it wrong as really meant you have fuck all of one!) were the ones going on about it.
