I bought those shoes last time i was over in america (a good few years ago). They seem to cater for larger sizes over there. Especially with basketball shoes. I wonder why

Now, I order pretty much everything from walktall.com

I'm quite tempted to get one of those eliptical running thingies so i won't have to venture out to run, plus i won't hurt my knees.

Don't bother, get some proper trainers and hit the roads, you will get fitter a lot quicker jogging than on machines imo.

Should be no difference in reality.
Doing the same motion, carrying the same weight for the same length of time should burn the same amount of calories and make my body work just as hard (i think).

I'd probably also be more tempted to use it on a daily basis.

na its a lot harder on the road due to factors such as incline of roads, surfaces changing ect ect.

that said running on a treadmill is excellent excersize also.

whatever works for you.

From personal experience ii found it a lot different and i'm sure i'm not alone. That was with the treadmill on 1.5%inclline iirc as that is meant to simulate running better (again iirc)

From my limited reading into it i've heard the same, a treadmill is totally different because you're not really moving forward, if you put it on a slight incline it simulates this more.

There's nothing like going for a run when you used to be able to run for miles and haven't done any excercise for years

I used to be able to run for an hour non stop when i was training for charity marathons... These days I can't run more than 5 mins without having a quick break

It's true it does get better and easier the more you do it, but once you get off the horse and try to do it again it's back to square one, so i can't be arsed

I do the same as far as where you go running... I hate running around my local area, think people look and think 'what a twat running around' ... and neighbours going 'hah there he goes for a run' etc.

Fuck em, just go to a field / country area and run in the middle of nowhere. Next to rivers is always good.

Make sure you've got soft fresh trainers, and don't run on hard surfaces and you shouldn't get this.

Go try running on soft fields with good trainers on.

basically you get it from hard impacts to the shin. Stretching etc won't solve it...

It's possible it'll improve the more you run, but it's a good signal your shins are essentially getting hurt from the impacts on running.

I find i get it if i over do it.

Great. It looks like i'm gonna have to invest in a new pair of boats, erm, i mean trainers.
Ah well, more incentive to go out and use them i guess.
