in the long term as davey LC says, the best way to think of it in my view is this.

both engines similar price. way less proper (i dont mean superchip davey, i dont subscribe to your newsletter on tuning) parts to tune the engines. nobody massively bothers with them. yet an old kknackered c20let there are loads of parts coming out for them still to this day. theyre a very sought after engine oddly.

if the z20let is fly-by wire davey, how would you get around that cheaply?

Perfect example of why people dont use them.. will all due respect thats such a naieve statement; The pedal isnt part of the pedal box on the Corsa C or the Astra and the accelerator pedal isnt part of the pedal box on the corsa B so why do you feel its such a 'big' problem to use the Corsa C pedal in the Corsa B? The wiring is a doddle to!

People are scared of wires!

WOW! a lot has happened since i've been gone, but more importantly......i been told the cars properly caved in and it will need a new oil cooler but i'm a bit concerned that its been running without oil after the stack? What other damages could of occured in the accident?

cracked block, cracked head, cracked turbo, smashed rad, smashed intercooler, snapped mounts, and if it was ran without oil, all sorts of problems.

id look into a 1.8 16v and tune it. easily be better and faster than any turbo engine.

If the rads took a hit then it might have ran with out water also! better to go down the far safer well known and proven 1.8 16v convertion!

The timing belt could have snapped too as shit can get pushed into that area resulting in snappage.
