I don't know how people get the figures they do in the cars they claim.

When i'm getting near 100 the speedo moves increasingly slower and I need more and more space and visibility to be safe/make sure there's no hawai 5-0 about.

I'd like to see the stretches of road people are hitting 120 in their 1.2 8v corsas.

theres plenty of long stretches in the UK to do these sort of things, its not that hard

Mine was on the M6 Toll at 3am took me about I was "cruising" at about 120 for a good few mins and was between bridges, had a look up to see if the helicopter was about and gunned it

so where is the CS electric chair then?

My claim of 180(ish) was from the passenger seat, while looking at the Road Angel while my dad had his eyes on the road.

I wasn't speaking about anybody in particular in this thread, was just talking in general from what's normally posted.

I know lots of cars are capable of hitting they speeds easily.

I haven't btw. Tbh I wouldn't want to go past 150mph in an Astra. At 150 I was thinking, what happens if a tyre blows now!!! Although I know of a Stage 3 VXR thats been off the clock (160mph+)

It was more like 176-178 ish.
On the way back from Doune.
Theres a long straight and flat stretch with very hefty concrete central reservations. I can't remember exactly where it is, but its not too far from perth i don't think.

had 130 indicated on the corsa with a little more to give so call it 120, been about 140 as a passenger though

It was a stretch of private land that ran near-by the public road
