I think it would only matter if she wanted a career in the police & even at that drink driving on its own is not even worth mentioning there.

because i was nearly killed by a drink driver few years ago and suffered to fractures to my spine amongst other injuries. I have serious issues with drink driving.
and as for the copper thing, It's called inappropriate association and can get into trouble for it

so aside from your personal situation/injury, you can be in trouble for seeing someone who has a drink driving charge? thats a joke.

i can see the reasoning behind it, quite a character thing. When i joined up my family and partner were thoroughly checked. If you want to marry or move house you have to see the chief constable too, get permission

Also there is a difference between someone who walks out the pub after 10 or so pints and drive home to someone who goes for a drive the next day and gets caught still over the limit, I wouldn't be with a girl if she had been done for drink driving (first example).

I dunno, you sound brainwashed by police bullshit. If you're got a partner that gets done for drink driving thats their problem, no yours, its their mistake, not yours.

Each to their own. Personally if someone is stupid enough to get drunk then drive home risking their own life and others then no i wouldn't have anything to do with them. Certainly not brainwashed, no.

didn't think i'd ever agree with you. Mate i used to know had been done for drink driving, and he often struggled to get work. Driving offences are now treat a lot more seriously than they used to be, especially drink driving, as much as it may be an indicatable offence, can get a canny punishment for it. Besides from that, i wouldn't fancy having to drive everywhere if my partner was stupid enough to loose his licence.
