If she's been telling a few people that they're the dad then it sounds unlikely she's planning to pay for DNA tests. If you want to know, you'll have to sort it out and maybe get it out in the open now IMO.
If ihe is yours and in however many years down the line when he tries to make contact, are you going to say "ah well, DNA tests cost a ton you know"?!
