If they let you do that then they can take my money and everyone can call me a chump. The extra storage capacity would be good. Somehow I don't think they will though because it's pretty expensive!

They wont as the 3g was subsidised whereas the original iphone wasnt which enabled o2 to do this.

It looks the same as the 3G and the 3G can get most of the new features via the software update, poor update imo.

I was tempted to wait for the new iphone before re-newing my contract with O2.
As it stands I dont want the new one and O2 will have to offer me a blinding deal with the old iphone in order to keep me from going to Vodafone and getting a HTC Magic tbh

There are 18 new android phones coming out this year so might be worth waiting, can wait forever though.
Anybody who upgrades from a 3g to a 3gs needs their head checking, unless the contract is up and they don't mind having another substandard phone.

I quite fancy android but not yet, nokia is doing well atm as far as i'm concerned, for me perosnally there isn't a better phone available than the E71.
I didn't get along with the last touchscreen phone I had either, would have to be massively improved.

im excited about the androids potential developments. SE samsung and nokia are all part of a group that have funded android research and development, within 8-10 months the majority of handsets will use android.
exciting times for everyone in the industry

Cant rate my HTC Magic high enough to be fair, fantastic phone which does everything (and so much more) i need it to.
The apps are great and the UI so easy to navigate and use
Im sure there will soon be a new android phone to better it but i think id agree with the reviews/press etc.. that its the best phone out at present

nearly all apps are free and are identical or better to the iphone apps
e.g barcode scanner - scan almost anything with the camera, cds dvds books games anything with a barcode etc.. and it instantly tells you the cheapest place to buy them from, i was like when i first used it!

Indeed, but I dont believe they have been readily available and easily downloadable for the joe public as they have with the iphone?
My gramp had an Iphone before me!
The New Iphone does look great, espically compared to the old one, mainly in terms of speed and I like the Video/Auto focus, but I dont think I could justify ending a contract.
90% of the features touted will be available to my current 3G anyway, so its not all bad

Well, it would appear you dont need bluetooth and MMS on a phone to make the most popular phones

My mate let me have a go on his e71 - it's a nice phone, but the video playback seemed slow and stuttering ... and lack of touch screen makes surfing the net a bit of a chore.
Thing i loved about my iphone was that surfing the net was so fluid... easy zoom in and out, scrolling about and clicking things with ease..
Well here's the question chaps, I've currently not got a iphone - is it worth me signing up for 18th month contract for one?
