not been in one yet, but seen quite a few up close. They are a lot bigger than you'd think

I'd be swaying towards the R8 I think.
Porsches are nice but i've never been that big a fan.

Nissan - 0-60 in 3.5 and 192mph - about 460bhp but supposed to be a fair bit more.
Audi - 0-60 in 4.4 and 187mph - 420bhp (V8 FSi)

only ever seen one gtr on the road and i have to say it didnt do anything for me at all, seen loads of r8s and everytime i see one it looks a bit special to be on the road, the gtr imo is very bland and kind of understated (looks wise)

For me the Audi's better looking, and for driving experience, the press really rate the Audi. Its a good NA engine.
For sheer performance, amazing grip on track and great lap times, but mostly aided by great computer control, the GTR...
Hard choice, very hard... I'd really need to drive both to make a decision with that kinda cash.

I agree there.... the R8 is a better looking (but awkard) car...
The GTR is a bit is like the R32 GTR and R34 GTR - ugly but brutally nice.
I love the way my R32 looks. Its ugly as sin, been head first and bum first through tyres and still comes out wanting more. 500+hp too. The R35 is just a natural evolution of the GT-R name

Imagine what R35's are going to be like in 5years or so.... 1000hp, metal spec etc...
BUT most of them are getting bought up by folk reeled in with the hype, not folk into cars etc.

aye, I guess you could argue... if you're spending that 'sort of money' - then you may as well get something new ? rather than the 'old model'. Hence GTR / R8 is a good buy, but the first time I went to nurburg in 07 - I saw the 996 rs's going around their so fast, I fell in love with them.

I've a similar dilemma here, have done done for a while now.
I fancy an R8/10...but the roof doesn't come off
I fancy an Exige (modded) but the roof doesn't come off.
997 C4 conv ticks a lot of boxes....so does the latest boxster in '09 spec.
As does the AM v8 vantage.
Right now I would go with a low mileage R8 methinks.

Thats called an elise
GT-R for me, although I like both of them, theres just something about the R8 which puts me off, but I don't know what. I would have some sort of 911 before the R8 I think

Yep,
Im sure you know me from vx.org and maybe seloc.
But the exige simply doesn't look right without the roof scoop, I would only have an exige in white....and the black hood looks pretty shite on white
