You just need to put your point across.Don't forget this guy is in the wrong too! The police will take a dim view of this.

but hes not in the wrong at all, well not legally.

morally he may be, and i beleieve he did know about the problems, however, there is also a chance he did not know a thing about it at all, so turning up to his house with the "lads" and showing threatinging behaviour will get you in trouble if he rings the police which he should as legally he is not in the wrong at all, the police will take his side, as if they would take the side of a group of lads with the intent of threating someone into taking a car back.

How would they know the lads were there for violence They couldn't prove jack shit.

It's not about being hard John.I'd take my brother in law who's a doorman and his mates. They would hand it over...just like they did with the Audi A3 i bought a few years ago which was found to be a damaged repaired car

That was 7K mind you.

Put it this way...

If you sold me a car and it went wrong either on the way home or when i got home i'd be back to you and asking for the money back.

If you didn't give it me back which you should if you had an idea of the problem or not your basically a twat and i don't like being ripped off. Then i'd get the money back.

Right but what about in situations where a) some guy smashes ten shades of shit out of you when you get all facey and b) some guy has no clue of the issue being there in the first place and dismisses you. ?

I wouldn't do it in the first place but if you turned up at my door with 'the lads' i'd just phone 'the lads' and have a stand off, you never know who you're getting involved with.

and what happens when they ring the police and inform them your hard mates are on there door step of there private property.

its pretty dire that your first thought is to get your "hardmates" to go and get it for you, whats wrong with having a simple chat with them first, you sound like a bully and just because someone is a door man doesnt make them hard lol.

If the guy had no issue, he should be obliged to cover half the cost which is what i've asked and i've done it in no agressive terms at all.

Im pretty sure he knew about the problem, luckily i only payed 4.5k for it which is a steal even with having to have the headgasket done 50k, 2 owners etc.

So i'm not to bothered, but it's the princepal of being shafted !

If he had no issue why should he be obliged to cover the cost.

Even if he did have an issue he isn't obliged.

Not at first, but now finding the radweld in the water suggests he knew there was a leak to me. Aswell as when i asked him the first thing he said was, check the spark plugs, but he told me theyd been changed 5k ago when i bought it..

Well if not wanting to get ripped off makes me a bully then so be it...the world is a harsh place somtimes.

And when did i say i wouldn't have a chat with him first? That's exactly what i'd do.You seem to have a problem with me?? Just because i have my own opinion on things that people put threads up about dosn't make me a bad person.

The seller must have know there were issues with the car prior to selling.

If the seller is being unreasonable at this stage then i'd get a few big mates together and pay him a little visit. They don't need to be violent, just need to be there and look scary.
