No, normal people modify there cars to enhance its appearance not worsen it and the crapbox above has the parts you've listed yet manages to look different (albiet shite), you may as well say every car has wheels so they must be copying.
Going by what your old crx looked like I understand that you lack taste so I won't worry about it too much

Modification is all about making the ride personal to yourself, if the dude that made it likes it, I'm sure he's not gonna loose sleep over the haters!
Oh as as regards to the CRX... that I didn't actual modify myself, if I did I would of done it slightly different, but all I was interested in was that it was a damn sight better than my 12 volt Corsa

Rat look is a funny one and people get so worked up about it, and that in its self is very funny.
For me Rat look is about 2 key things:
1. Having fun/laugh with a car
2. Having a car that you dont give a crap about buts still individual.
AsRat is now a little different to last year, its got a totally stripped rear, bucket seats, harnesses and a red top. Its so much fun to drive and its still a shit heap but makes you smile when driving it and using it for hauling crap about
All in the name of fun, and all for very little money.
