our ''office'' politics are very bad.
people won't do a job if it's above their pay grade (we have grades 2, 3 and 4 and grade 3 gets 20 quid more than 2 a week, grade 4 gets 20 quid more than 3).
then people argue about why a grade 3 is on a grade 2 job, or why a grade 2 is helping a grade 3 by doing his job.
gets really annoying at times, but also really funny.

we are pretty chilled in the office,but it can get heated, with regards to teas, we have a new itchen so everyone makes their own or go to the free drinks machine...
every1 chips in to do each others work in the dept, but there are some people who occasionally do nothing and get others to do it for them

I baby sit 10 mechanics.. It's not so much politics more abuse and arguments
it's like working on a psychiatric ward, they all have split personalities..
Regarding brews though it's just whoever can be bothered. It's a bit too hot in our offices ATM though

I make them drink tea at work. With milk in. And they make it themselves.
But yes, office politics features heavily in a very competitive environment like ours.

Thats exactly how I am.
If someone is busy when I go in and Im not, I'll put the kettle on (or more often than not nip to Starbucks). If Im busy and they arent I'll ask if they can stick it on.
Not a big job.

Yes, I'm usually the one who writes all the orders down, nips to subway, comes back, dine with the workers, then tell them all off for underachieving and then go play golf or play with the scooby.

I've just been a temporary promotion at work, and been put in charge of another office as they are behinfd with work. This department is merging with my normall office and everything needs to be up to date. They are about 2 months behind, and I have 3 weeks to get it sorted.
I've been put in charge of 8, 50ish year old women. Half of them are being made redundant due to the merge, and they fucking hate me.
If I manage 3 weeks without chinning one of them it will be a huge accomplishment.
