Some good ones here that hadn't crossed my mind. Cheers guys

So tbh, the machine polishing is less important, and bascis on achieving a good finish by hand with the right products is more the key yeh?

I used to use windolene in the corsa, ended up with pink smeg everywhere though

I have the autoglym stuff for the punto, supposedly it's streak free but never seems to come out that way, is There anything you can use on the outside too? Therese so much glass on my car it's a pain to keep clean

Since this is a guide for Corsa Sport and not for Refined Detail I hope you're going to include plenty of non Dodo Juice products.

I realise thats probably all you've ever pushed because thats the main/only brand of product you sell, but i think its important to forget that, and to cover a wider range of items.

You may agree/disagree, but its just a thought and i hope you don't mind me saying.

Edit: You could always have a scan through PB's FAQs and see if there are any other areas that should be covered...

soooo you expect him to go out and buy other shit? I'd say its decent enough that he's going out of his way by doing this aswell as using his own stock to make the tutorials.

Generally its the same, although some products to differ from others. For example you are best to apply some products by hand, and others by machine.

Although he sells dodo, I assume he has tried, tested and uses other products too.

tbf I know about nearly every remotely "mainstream" product out there (without sounding too big headed!)

It's not for Refined Detail though so no isn't just going to be a plug for Dodo Juice - I don't exactly have much incentive to just plug them anyway tbf! Ask almost anybody who contacts me on a daily basis - I don't just plug Dodo products, unless they ask me to specifically suggest the best one for them out of the stuff I sell.

I had no intention to just plug Dodo so your comment does piss me off a little bit, but hey, I'm sure plenty of others were thinking it too, so it's answered now

I will still be doing a Dodo section too though as that should then help to cut down on the amount u2u's I get each day lol.

To be fair he does plug all his Dodo products in his sig. Although, I see where your coming from.
I think Rich should get a little something out of all the work.
Maybe a small banner on the site somewhere or free premium membership for as long as he serves the CS community.

Best question so far.

When i think of "detailing",all that pops into my head is £ signs.Thats why it dosnt interest me.
So i too would like to know if its possible to get a decent shine for not much ££££.
At the moment i use a mix of SRP and Meguires and it keeps me happy and hasnt cost me more than £30 all in.Is it possible to get a good finish with the above products and a cpl of applicator pads and some of these polish removal cloths??

I'm sure Rich will go into this further in the faq's, but in most cases it is possible to get a good shine with lower end products.
The advantages of the more costly products (LSPs) are generally seen in the durability.

I asked Rich if he would mind writing a tutorial for this as there are always alot of people asking for advice, tips etc. I've been put in charge of the tutorials and FAQ section of the site. Seeing as these questions are asked frequently, then a guide would be helpful.

To do this well, it is not a five minute job. Therefore Rich is free to plug a few of his products in the guide as he sees fit.

Detailing, like big body kits, always causes some debate. Some people love it, some hate it. I aim to be able to please both by having a tutorial and not clogging other forums with questions.

For those of us who are happy with a Morrisons Silver auto wash, then no need to be bitchy in here please

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.
