thats kind of the point of this thread?

i ment why get a dog if you dont have time for it in the first place no excuse to get rid if theres someone in the house through the day. if there isnt its not fair on the dog.

My dog is part of my family but when I say kill it with a brick I am only joking!

I only said it to try and add some humour to the room!

I'd say to rehome it you would be best off ringing any relatives and see if they are interested.
And if they are not, ask them if they will take it, with a abg and a brick, and save you the bother of killing it yourself.

Best way either way! ha!

Invest in a muzzle and some plastic sheeting, problem solved!

i could just "give" away a dog.

Pisses me off the way people just give pets away.

We didnt have time for a baby when we found out missus was pregnant.... didnt get rid of her.

same thing to me.

I know a guy that has working dogs, so not pets at all, one day they had a new puppy and it managed to scratch the car and didn't come back when told to, so out came the shotgun

Captials for a reason!

I CANNOT SEE HOW PEOPLE JUST GET RID OF DOGS! WE JUST LOST TWO, ONE OF 18 AND ONE OF 15. THEY WERE PART OF THE FAMILY AND WENT EVERYWHERE WITH US.

Got one of 12 still who's going strong. He still thinks he's a pup Picking up another tomorrow to keep him company.

TBH your mum should have taken the time to do a bit of research (i.e. the dog's temperament, what they're like at home, how hard they are to house train etc.) before just getting it, but I'm sure you don't need me telling you something you already know.

As others have said, call the RSPCA and get them to collect the dog or take it to one of their centres. They won't charge you anything for taking the dog, and they'd rather you give the dog to them instead of say tieing it up to a lamp post and buggering off like some dickheads do.

If your mum (stepdad) wants a low maintenance pet I would suggest a goldfish.
