how are they a rip off? i personally think they are a stunning car  if i get one, it will be compleley original and nothing will be touched or fettled with, i would want to keep it as standard as possible.
as others have stated they will only go up in value. yeah they're not amazingly quick but its the styling im after more than anything, just those arches are huge

Well my puma is £1500. It not a that much slower, doesn handle that much different and its doesnt have wide arches. Ill keep the £4000+ in the bank tar
Dont get me wrong, i would love one, but owning a normal one, i couldnt jusitfy buying one

the racing puma would piss over a standard puma's handling, you dont think a car with that much width holding the road would help.
at the end of the day, just look at it , whats going to get more heads turning a racing puma or an ordinary puma?

its not that bad though its a 1.7 with 155bhp, yeah the engine lets its down a little, but they handle and look stunning. and with that engine it enables me to get insurance

for what they are, theyre not earth shatteringly fast at all. if anything, for a 155bhp little car, theyre fairly poor.

theres a guy that lives afew doors down my boss that has one. its a nice car, i love the stance of them.
whats the insurance on one? whats your circumstances etc?

insurance isn't cheap, but its not expensive for what it is. my cirumstances.
running a car is my only constant outgoing and im going to uni next year for 3 years so the car will hardly be used and will only be used on weekends/holidays when i come back, so the milage would be kept low. but probably shoot up when i come home

If your considering a frp drive both first, ive driven an frp and normal puma and both are realy balanced cars but the frp felt alot tighter and better built.

fair enough, you may pick up a DC5 for 8ish but i'm fairly sure the insurance will hike up a fair bit
go and drive a puma, and see if you like. if so, buy one

If anything it should be the other way around, the FRP was once a regular body, cut and new panels attached.
The difference is probably that the Racing has been looked after and had bushes and the like whereas the normal one got no such attention.
There's certainly no reason why one should feel better than the other aside from how its been cared for. Which is why they are five times the price.

My best mate has one, very nice car, at the time i had a normal 1.7 puma with 13k miles i couldnt keep up with at all on the twistys, i think the frp has bilsteins alround or Eibach i cant remeber. The extra power in a straight line is hardly noticeable though!! if you get bored you can throttle body them and you have some good power!!Great little engine just got to watch out for high miles as they tend to burn fair bit of oil! buy one! it be a good investment if you look after it.

wait til you have to find parts...ford know hardly anything about them.
my mate snapped a driveshaft and took 3 months to source one.
ill try and find out the 2 companies that did them or worked with them off my mate. they handle very well. but from experiance my mate had finding parts then i wouldnt buy one.

There's pumaspeed and puma build that are specialists in the FRP
|
