My local's 10 miles away so I don't go there often. Used to drink closer to home and was there every fri/sat night.

Its situated right on the Harbour and has been voted one of the best pubs in Britain. On a nice summers night like this its awesome to sit out in the sun and look at the nice cars and bikes that normally come out with the weather.
I've been there, had a few after a walk up to Dunnottar Castle

Nope, never been in any of the locals in our town.
An ex girlfriend was the daughter of one landlord so couldn't go there, one is specifically for old people and one is populated mostly by people I hated at school.
Prefer to go to Bedford straight after work and then train home. Easy

My local is a 20 second walk around the corner, but some bright spark decided to change it to a Thai restaurant and within weeks it had shut down as the regulars went else where.
Now it's shut down and looks like a war zone with its metal shutters.

The locals have gone down the pan like how the village has become a bit of a dive, so no i don't drink in them - it's either Bedford/MK/London for a heavy night, or head to Cardington (Kings Arms) or Southill (White Horse) for a quiet one.

Bedford is becoming a bit of a dive now, especially as places like Bankers and Litten Tree (and the new bar next to LittenTreen that use to be Chicken Cottage) tend to be full of bellends most nights, like with the clubs (what clubs are there now? Oxygen and Time Out still going?)
Rose is about the only place worth having a drink (maybe the goblin) that and the local behind Kwik-Fit (off Tavistock Street) where you can get real ales.
And Noble, i think you're on your own with Esquires

TBH I don't go to clubs but know where you mean. I work round the corner from Oxygen and its in the shittest area of town (pretty much) and always looks a state. We usually go to the ship down St. Cuthberts Street.
I've never been to Esquires either

Anywhere around the train station/DIY store is a bombsite, remember having a drink in the pub on the corner of that roundabout whilst waiting for a train, that was a mistake
Have been to the ship a few times, seemed fairly decent. Also remembered theres a few pubs around the Castle Road area (more towards where Missions was) that are ok.
Still, if you're after a "banging" night out, i don't think it's the place to be, it's a bit like having a night out at Jumping Jacks in Dunstable
