There is a tramp in Newcastle City Centre that i see quite often.
It's horrible having to watch him eat food out the bins.

I tend to give a pound or so to them (as there aren't actually many about here), Boycey gives them advice, such as lay off the drugs.

LOL. I totally have images of Boycey putting a hand round the hobo's shoulder drunkenly and giving them life advice.

Dont agree with givin to tramps really. In this day and age, there is no need to be on the streets. They can get shelter and food

Thats not really true, a mates family member is homeless (for soo many reaosns that I wont go in to), and he goes round various shelters as much as he can, but they wont let anyone stay for more than a set amount of days. So in the end their just isnt enough spaces for them all.

I've actually started chatting to some of them and some appreciate the fact someone has given them attention more than change. There's some that are clearly junkie fucks though and they don't have my sympathy if truth be told.

There's no need for them to be homeless. Why can't they get a job sweeping the streets? Emptying bins? I see the vast majority of them as lazy bastards that can't be bothered. Not that it doesn't make sense - was in the paper a while ago saying that they can 'earn' anything up to £200 a week in some places.

As they dont have an address, if they dont have an address they cant get a proper job. Let alone who is going to employ someone (even to do as you say) who has no house, cant get a wash/shave and only has one set of clothes? Especially when plenty of people who do have all of those things also apply for those jobs.

Hm, I know where you're coming from. So what's the way out for them?

TBH I bet a lot dont get out other than prison or death. I dont think its exactly an easy thing to do, especially at the moment when even a lot of qualified and 'house living' people are out of jobs and competing with them.
TBH Id rather the Govt spent more helping the homeless out (well, the ones who genuinely deserve it) than spending billions on giving prisoners their own TV's and playstations, etc.

never really given much to any of them. see them all the time when i'm visiting mates in manchester. you get the odd skaghead in southport during the day that asks for afew quid for the bus home. if they just came out with "i don't suppose i could hastle you for afew quid? i'm kind of losing my buzz" i'd be more inclined to hand it over.
when i was in poland with college afew years ago we were out having afew beers and as we headed back to the hotel we were confronted by 2 hobos. one was like "you give me money, you rich englishman" one of the teachers replied "no, we're students, no money" fell about laughing at the time

Southport is full of the fuckers. You ever seen that grass in the summer by the big needle thing? Full of them getting a bath in the water feature there
Ive never seen as many in Manchester as i did today, literally on every corner.

I work near the job centre in Bedford and we can see the tramps appearing day after day collecting nipping in to make sure they get their money, walking out the door and straight into the pub over the road.
Poor my arse, I couldn't afford to be in the pub all day every day so they must be better off than I am

the problem with southport is that its in Merseyside, all the smackrats from the rest of merseyside go down and act like they're at home. Southport is for old people during the day, does nobody know that?
none of this would be an issue if it was still in the good old Red Rose county

So you're saying all the scumbags in southport are coming from Liverpool?
And yes, its for old people and engaged women (around my shop).

Can some wanker give me some money so I can buy some new sneakers? I'll sleep on the pavement outside my house for a night if someone will donate.

EXACTLY the same as Glasgow, I was actually going to post a similar thread because it was getting ridiculous the amount of them.
Any coincidence with the fact this is the last Thursday of the month?
