TBH, even if you are clueless,99 times out of 100 the 20k one will still be better than the 100k one, cars don't need a service until 20k now.

depends completely how well the car has been looked after - ie servicing

the useage - motorway miles

average mileage cars are the best to have, low mileage sit, and go rusty/rot

but 100k is nothing, justs a figure, people think is bad

well it also comes down to personal experience, i get told all the time to buy a FORD cos there reliable but hang on.......

in my g/f family which all they have is FORDS ive seen nothing but problems especially with the engines, ESCORT 1.8 SI drank oil, FIESTA ZETEC-S drank oil, Puma 1.7 drank oil so vast the engine seized and had to be replaced, Fiesta 1.25 zetec once again drank oil each and every one of them Drank oil like it was going out of fashion so YES FORDS ARE MEGA RELIABLE ENT THEY.....

its funny too as my xe corsa has been more reliable than my old 1.4 16v engine with 25k on the clock and my mrs old ford ka and my mrs old 1.6 sport corsa b and my recent mk4 astra gsi, and my corsa is thrashed to within a inch of its life....

my dad had a rover 600 2.0 16v p-reg he bought it from new WHEN THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO REALLY BADLY BUILT AND UNRELIABLE yet he clocked up 176k on same engine and gearbox just it serviced once a year and the nearest repair to the engine in 176k miles was the exhaust rusted so what does that say?? he sold it and ive since seen it in northampton 8-10 months ago he sold it 3 years ago

Just because they drink oil doesn't mean they're unreliable. . .

My Octavia TDi is on 231k and feels very tired and lethargic, despite a lot of parts having been replaced.

I had the pleasure (not!)of driving a 400K Skoda superb back from London one time Now that was a shit heap.

And on the other hand a few weeks later i drove one with 320K on and it felt tight as a drum! Well looked after though but the first one was a taxi.

i work on motors with 1million on the clock on same engine! Without a rebuld.

All the motors i work on do like 60k miles between 8week services.

I havent/never will have a problem buying a car with service history over 100k.
