Just found a really good deal on Expedia

BA Terminal 5 on a 747, arriving in JFK @ 12.15pm on the Thurs, leaving JFK @ 9.35pm on the Tues staying at the Novotel in Times Sq, £1,300. Thats several hundred cheaper than I can find it anywhere doing sperates $45 (+ bridge toll + 15% tip) taxi across the bridge then get the subway and airtrain back in

Me mam is an stingy owld wench. Although I can imagine everyone wanting your money.

For example, she was in a cafe and got a coffee, she left a tip and the guy came over and said "Where is my tip!?" My mam said there it is, the guy said "No, that's not right, I want my tip!" that's when I stopped listening to her.

This is a bundle so not sure how much they work out as.

£500 each with insurance, hotel, and flights is good I thought. Would be about £470 each without insurance.

we just went for our honeymoon - 6 night in December with Virgin (tho flew Continetal) and staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Chelsea was £1800.

Mustsare Bryant Park for Ice Skating - cheaper than all the other places, less busy but just as good. $9 each to skate, everywhere else i.e. central park/rockerfella $25+ each to skate.

Also get a subway pass for the week, think it was $25 and unlimited rides.

Don't go up the Empire State, go up the Top of the Rock and you will getEmpire State in your pictures, views just as good and if the visibility is poor, they tell you not to go up and change your ticket dates - which is good because their ain't trying to rip you off!

WTC was not emotional as it's a building site with no memorial, you wouldn't even know it was ground zero if you weren't going to visit ground zero - go to Battery Park for the memorial! Battery Park is also were you get the free ferry to Statton Island that passes the Statue of Liberty - avoids spending $12 of a ferry to her when all you see if her from her feet - she's not that big either!

Defo go to Shake Shack for a burger, it's behind the National History Museum and got voted NY's best burger and we agree!

We want to go back in the summer as it was freezing, but will go back to Midtown area and be "local" as we've done the touristy stuff!

Defo have a look at the Hilton Garden Inn tho, close the subway (end of the street, literally 100m)safe area, good hotel and only been open a year so still in good nick!

have fun!

Also try and fly to JFK - Newark is ok going but coming back is an arse - also try and book your seats as we got separated because of their automated check in service and we had to leave our luggage once checked in, by the end of a queue for someone to come and collect and the security queue is shit! also don't bother with the esta, they don't check them and you still have to fill in a green visa card and stand in the same long queues

we also got a stretch limo as our transfer but was an extra £300 round trip. Though apparently if you ring them and haggle when you get there, you can get a transfer for $100 each way
