Maybe I just don't treat it well enough
I think there is the odd bad one, pows was bad but so is his mito! None of my mates have had serious problems
My MiTo is fine thank you very much, far far far better then the TWO ibiza TDi's i've owned
They are renowned for falling apart, they are renowned for eating bushes, the climate control in the just doesn;t work properly, in the TDi's the dashboards need replacing every 5-6 years (seat say it's a disposable part). They brake too easy and have a VAG price tag to fit.
The 130 engine, brilliant. The car, shocking.

Oh yeah, and the front is WAYYYY to heavy so it just understeers everywhere. The suspension knocks as well

whiteline arb cures that but then makes the back end silly twitchy and steps out way too much.

Check on ebay for the exhausts. I found an OPC Cat back on there for around £180. That was for the 1.4 16v aswell.

Maybe in standard form, but I few choice changes and they are awesome.
Yeah, I plan on said changes, just waiting for the financial situation to get a bit better! You got the same as me now then?

Personally, I think thats impossable. Everyone will find something on a car that can be improved on somehow.

I've had mine a year and a half now. Haven't really spent out anything on it, just fitted hids, the pre facelift fr grilles, cd player and a few other bits. I never seem to have the money for suspension which is what I will get round to sorting at some point. Have you had it mapped? Thats another thing on my list, but again, funds will need to be present!

I haven't mapped it, but I think theres some sort of conservative map on. When I RR'd it, it ran 145bhp and 270lb/ft both peaking where mapped ones do. Also boost spikes at just below 1.6bar and settles at 1.4bar (standard boost to 1.4 and settle at 0.9)
Suspension wise, Eibachs are very good, probably a tad comfier than standard suspension yet still really good through the twisties. Im either going to get Eibachs or Weitecs, the weitecs are made by KW and are about £200 less than the Eibachs

You get the 1.4? 100bhp? If so one of my mates has one, RRd it at 102bhp standard, now 120bhp with catback, filter and Revo map, he's got a supercharger to put on it at some point too
build thread is here http://ibizaoc.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=466

It doesn't make it silly twitchy and the back doesn't step out at all unless you want it to.
