make an elaborate trap so that when he uses your drive a piece of fishing wire is across and when he hits it your bin falls into his car and he thinks he hit your bin.

You don't want to start vandalising his car. Is he using your drive or the path? Not a lot you can do if he's just he's the lowered access as it's public road, if he's actually coming up our drive then i would first have a word. Otherwise do what we have to do and leave one of the cars on the bottom edge of the drive.
Failling that, get some metal lockable bollards put it, bit of arseache getting onto your own drive but it'll stop him using it....

Tighten it back up.

....drives on it, might hopefully burst the tyres or bash the bumper, damage of some kind is all that matters.

OR, Just ignore the badger and keep reversing onto his drive as much as you need to.
