Oh, the other reason for no 'fun' cars is because insurance isn't kind to me, for some reason. ST170 is out of the question on that alone, let alone day to day costs.

For a 1.4 Corsa, at 22 with 3NCB and 0 claims (which won't actually be true until August when I renew) it was £600ish

Have you got quotes on other stuff or are you assuming it will be more expensive because it's got a bigger engine or whatever?

I vote Focus as well just not a boring model!!

What about Fro-dabble's Golf Anni?? You'll get decent mpg so long as you dont drive like a nugget!!

Or just wire me the 5k so I can sit my bike license & get a ducati 748 & i'll email you every night to let you know how moist my underpants are.

I was right.

£1000 insurance for the Focus ST170. Bugger that.

1.8 TDCi Focus same as a Corsa 1.4 SXi.

I'd have the 1.8tdci focus over a 1.4 corsa.

5k is a lot of money for a 5 year old corsa with leather.

Granted, they're a lot of money for what they are. But they also all cost that much, so must be how much they're worth. . .

4k is the right price to pay for a top spec Exclusiv with low low miles IMO.

Yes, I wouldn't pay it for either, the 1.8tdci was the only thing that was making me go to the focus, I wouldn't take a mk1 focus for free.

Get something you can have fun with. Or is your car ONLY for doing 15k a year in?

Do you want to enjoy it?

Yeah, but I want to enjoy it in the fact that it's comfortable and doesn't cost me a lot.

I don't need a car for fun, I have other hobbies, unlike some on here. I don't mean that in a bad way, but my car isn't a hobby, it serves a purpose.

Just like people on here wouldn't spend £3k on a mountain bike, I would. I wouldn't spend £3k paying for insurance, tax, fuel and tyres.
