Lease it and you don't need to worry about depreciation.

I had a couple of these as company cars when they were first released . I really liked them. If you get one make sure you spec a spare wheel and solid boot cover, both were no cost options last time I looked.

£22.5K is a lot of money for a base model car, compared to this which is base model with a few exterior bits + leather

Suppose. Good residuals though.

I guess the Volvo makes sense then.

Good cars..

But once you've specced one up, added the bodykit, alloys, twin exhaust etc, its knocking on somethign stupid like £25-£30k..

Thats a lot of money for a car which isn't at the top of its class.

That said, still a good car, and not many about.

i like them! I would say the pre facelift is nicer looking. But agree with what you say a nicer image than the rivals. Classy even.

White or black one is porn.

The other thing is how well built they are - I thought my Audi was fairly solid until an 850 T5 ran into the back corner of mine. It broke his indicator lense costing £30-£40 to repair whereas mine has £750-£1000 worth of damage.

My Dad owned the first Volvo S40 in the country - he had it 4months or so before it went on general sale and had helped with some of the development work of the exhaust system - to this day (he had it in 1996) he still says it was one of the best cars he's owned

it's about £22k for a t5 r design, not bad really!

But then there are add ons like the premium stereo for £1000! Meant to be amazing though!

White or dark grey would have to be my colour preference, but I think they discontinued the grey

Good value for money IMO. Had numerous ones and ran a T5 for a month 2yrs back. Facelift looks softer and I think detracts from what was a nice aggresive looking car, but as per most manufacturers these days -it reflects the corporate face seen across the range. Dynaudio is a nice upgrade and even the 1.6 is ok. I looked at an r-design before I bought a used A3 Sline. Think the 1.6 was circa £12.5k new

Great cars these..only driven a 1.6 but it felt really solid and well laid out etc etc

There's a white turbo one near us and it looks awesome IMO.

Was it the petrol or diesel 1.6 you drove? They do an Eco diesel 1.6 which gets you the dirt cheap road tax

apparently it's 20% discount on C30's plus scrappage. Need to find a friend with a scrapable car

I would have to say, get it in white!! By far the best colour! But im not biased at all

ive got the 1.6 petrol, and its a really nice car to drive. The one thing i would change is the handbrake, but i dont tend to drive with it on so it doesnt get in the way.

I find the driving position very good if im honest. ive had mine just over a month and i love it!

They dont depreciate much either!

A very good car!
