I need a mk1/mk2 golf in my life, but I keep telling myself it won't be practical and it'll be unreliable and the little voice in my head says "but it's a vw"

i bought a cheap runabout mk2 16v and i've paid out on a few things, but nothing major, i'm now on the lookout for really clean one to put in the garage to tinker with over time.

Robin! My favourite picture is the first one.

I'm surprised he tore it to bits. It hardly looked as if it needed it.

Seems rather foolhardy losing the plate too.

I mean, that was it's USP. How many bloody MK I golfs are there out there on 'D' plates.

It's not a GTi anymore either.

He'll have to rebadge it as a 'GT' or a 'GTC'

With the wrong front splitter, faded badges, front higher than the back, wrong front grille, wheels that didn't fit, mouldy rear lights, no stripes, the wrong front indicators and the wrong fuel cap?

I made it look as it did from the factory (apart from the wheels), not as someone else wanted it to look
