Kodak has 2 Twitter people iirc, just doing Twitter all day every day.

im only early 20's lol 
it could always go the way of myspace, younger uses grew up and onto better thing FB (if you like that sort of thing)

That's the thing though, if I'm out and meet a new person, I can conduct a proper and flowing conversation with substance, all these people who use facebook and twitter etc... tend to just sit there giving you one word answers...
I must meet atleast 20-30 new people each week with the line of work I do and generally it's the younger generation that can't have a proper conversation over half a minute long, the people who don't tend to be 'upto date' you can have a good convo with.
Why is this do people think?

Obviously it won't be the case for 'everyone', I've even met people off here who on the site can debate and discuss things on here, but when you meet them, they mumble and look at the floor and tend to just say " eerrr " and " dunno " alot.
Unless it's me, they don't like looking at me or don't talk so I'll piss off quicker?

You're right with those examples, but I just don't see it the same with twitter. Its not really a new technology, its just a different way for peoples thoughts to spread around a bit quicker. As you point out, maybe I'm thinking about it the wrong way, but I don't see it being any different to FB status updates.
That said, I'm not the type of person to send a hundred texts a day like other people at work and some of mates, or will spend much time looking up news headlines or finding out about new stuff.
I like my simple routine

Got to admit, there is someone in my old office who is exactly like this. He'll happily sit and send 100 or more texts a day, and spend all lunchtime on facebook, but ask him to phone a supplier and he'll write himself a prompt list of things to say before he picks up the phone.
I dread to think what'll happen when the company asks him to meet and make decisions on site

I'll talk to anyone me, but at the same time if there is someone who'd rather not talk to, I won't just sit there and mumble one word replies, I'll just tell them to stop talking to me for whatever reason that would be.
I insured my scooby not long back and ended up chatting with the guy on the phone for about 5 minutes after I insured it as he was interested in P1's, I learned that they made a second batch of 500, nice guy he was.

I used to be like that on the phone.
Now I do telemarketing, I'll talk to anyone. I still can't face to face though.
And I like it when telesales people phone the office, we turn the table on them

Twitter is annoying. Just seems to be the new Facebook which was the new Bebo which was the new MySpace etc....
It'll be replaced soon enough and everyone will be talking about the next one to come along.

I do agree with this. The fact that kids literally get the internet and spend their whole childhoods on it, can't be good - even if they are 'socialising' with people online. Naturally people who spend their lives infront of a computer will not be able to socialise as well face to face...
I must admit, I was striving for debate earlier regarding 'twitter'. I don't think it's revolutionary and it definately will be replaced by the next 'new things' - but i don't think it's utterly useless and I think the people who think it is, just don't 'get it' / 'use it properly' - hence thinking it's just another facebook.

My comment was more aimed at the likes of Radio1. Who seem to bum Twitter now, after previously bumming Facebook, and MySpace.

Thing is, I was thinking about this the other day. Chris Moyles has got hundreds of thousands of followers, due to him asking people to follow him on the radio. If Radio 1 tried to give him the boot, he'd potentially have the voice and means to communicate with these fans / listeners of him directly, to try to get the bbc to keep him on.
I must admit, I was just watching channel 4 news and the bloke at the end said 'add me to twitter at bla bla bla' - I cringed.

I'm tempted to start again soon. May finally get my betfair account unlocked as I know there's £50 sitting in there! (who knows maybe it's been gaining interest )

No mate, lost everything again FLOL!
Took my balance from £40 to £195 autotrading only - left my programme running 24/7 and it did ok.
I withdrew £45 taking the balance to £150, and the program then proceeded to loose 90% of it.
I decided I'd take my small profit and run so not bothered much since start of December.
