They are pretty good cars but there are a few issues:
c) They have a rear torsion beam.
torsion bar. the corsa C has torsion beam

Not me... seem as i owned a corsa sport with a dblias inlet, exhaust etc and then a GSi and then a VTS aswell as two friends owning corsa SRi's one with a 1.4 and one with a 1.8 i think i have good grounds to give an opinion

As Rob has had more hot hatches then I have had hot dinners I would listen to him

I have had two corsa's and a civic type r and my current vts is the most fun car I have had

Not as badly made as some haters would lead you to belive, yer the sri is built better but is heavier but its the light weight of the saxo that makes it a fun car

sri = refined nice drive bit more expensive

vts = cheaper, more basic, more fun, faster.

Depends what you want from a car

For me fun is top of the list so I have a vts

Get a Clio MK2 1.6 RSi quicker then the VTS and SRi

My Brother has got a RSi and raced both the above cars and won
Very very fast indeed!!

1.8's are good but they are all quite old now unless you can get a pampered one

Snapping

Its the radius arm bearings that go, or the mounting bushes. Bushes are piss easy to change, bearings is a bit more involved.

Usually ends up they dont get changed, they get worse and worse and damage the beam itself.

My saxo VTR took so much abuse it was unreal, apart from the exhaust snapping of at the cat and the front bumper falling to pieces when i hit a fox, for the money i dont think they are bad little cars

my vts was unbeliveable fun! my corsa sri is a better car. slower and doesnt handle as well, but a much nicer place to be and can still make me smile when i give it a bit on the bends.
i do intend to chuck a few grand into the corsa over the next few years though to make it much faster than the vts and see if i cant get it to handle as well

No it doesn't. The 1.8 RSi would be quicker. The later model 1.6 is piss slow.

I dont even think the Mk1 Rsi 1.8 8v would be quicker than a Vts Eck.Heavier Mk2 with more weight and less power certainly wouldnt stand a chance.

The vts is faster, better to look at and handles better, but people rip the pish when they say they are just as fast as a valver corsa, maybe an engine that has never been rebuilt and makes 135hp then yes but a true 150hp redtop corsa is much faster, wont handle anywhere near the saxo tho

What ever it is.. Something snaps then you've got to open them up and 99.9% of the time they are corroded up like a cunt!

i loved my vts, it was a ripper, stripped to fuck it would almost keep up with barnshaws st220 on the straights and round the bends you could guess what happened.corsa def a much nicer place to be though, more refined although not a word i would usually associate with a corsa
