I've got two meaty locks on it now.. Reported it to the police because this time they used a knife to cut the cover and the K word normally makes the police interested.

The locks are generally not the issue. It's the chain that's normally the weak link ( no pun ).
If I was you i'd invest in an Almax Immobiliser or Pragmasis Protector chain and Squire SS65 padlock combo. Nearly every other chain on the market can be hand cropped in less than 45 seconds with a set or Irwin Record 42" cutters. These chains cannot and can just about be cropped with fire department hydraulic cutters cranked on max. Not many thieves carry these about . Of course any chain can be attacked with an oxy torch or grinder but these are all noisey cumbersome options.

I'd also invest in a decent ground anchor such as Rhino, Y Anchor, Hardie or Torc.

If theives want a bike they will take it, regardless of the lock or alarm on it anyone can get round them. i know how to bypass most of todays alarms and no chain is cut resistant.

Most pros use a fridge van and assisted cutters. Straight through any chain and by the time the alarm goes off the bikes in the back of the fridge van and silenced from the world.

If you want a bike not to be stolen, it should live in a garage or the house. parking it up with a ground anchor is asking for it to be nicked!

what i used to do...because there's no professional theives that want to nick a moped, I knew it'd be local chavs/kids/scum, I'd take the sparkplug out the bike each night, took me 30 seconds to do, but you know if it ever got nicked, unless they have a van, it's not going anywhere fast.

The bike is immobolised. if they are nicking it they are walking away with it or in a van so doesnt matter about the spark plug

They would be suprised.wouldn't be too hard to make a quick wooden frame or so to speak that likes the shape of a bike.....Film it and get £250 off you've been framed to pay for another anchor

Pop down the local chemist and get a needle, smear a bit of ketchup on it and pop it somewhere where it's gunna prick them. Then, leave a note somewhere - "I have AIDS"
