They'll have 1 of the better squads, a couple of world class players, they'll put in 1 or 2 promising results then get papped out off Portugal, Spain, Brazil or Argentina same as every other tournament.

I reckon Rooners could score a 1 on 1 against Mooney. So hopefully Spayne will take Mooney.

We have some left back and wing issues at the moment. Also a 1st choice keeper issue.

I know this thread isn't about team selection but they could prevent Rooner, Lampy and 'Ard playing to their potential.

This thread is the place to report injuries from around the World that could mean players miss the finals

Hers a couple to start you off

Camoranesi - rated extremely doubtfull to be there for the I ties

Van Persie - very unlikey to be risked in the Holland squad

Pepe - Portugals only world class defender is out of the finals

and obviosly in Englands group America are screwed by missing dempsey, charlie davies and Onyewu

Did you watch us play brazil in that friendly? I think we'll do ok but as already mentioned we have too many worries in some positions and I can't see there being the best vibe in the dressing room what with bridge and terry, terry probable to be unable to stop acting like the captain. If we loose 'rooners' to injury then we'll be lucky to get into the quarters imo.

Think you'll find 3 of his last 4 injuries have all been done when he was in international duty.

We have loads of left backs .... personally I believe cole will be fit and so will glen johnson but if we have loads of options to play at left/right back. They might not be experianced in that position but they wont let us down -- talking about people like carrick, gary neville, phill neville(in the form of his life right now) baines, bridge, brown, even barry could play there...... all we need is Rooney, lampard and terry on the pitch and we surround them with a load of grafters----

in the bag imo

What does everyone think of Defoeza? Reckon he will bang in a few strikes?

Should we take Walcotto? How about David Jamo in goal? Good enough?

This thread has cheered me up no end on an otherwise tired and miserable day.

I dont think I could cope with England winning the WC. There is enough twats come out the woodwork when it comes around every 4 years, let alone if we win the bloody thing.

Anyways, i'm now claiming to be half Spanish since my Dad lives there. So I might support them

I think we should put all the blacks we have in our team as they will like the hot climate better as it is where they are from. Then we will win.

Heskers upfront, im telling you.

You keep referring to players 'not letting us down' how do you know this there's always one player who does something that is remembered as letting us down, cue beckham, southgate, blah blah. I just don't think we have a winning mentality in us, yes it's probably better with capello but collectively there always seems to be something missing to go the extra few games, I see this tournament no differently.
