Its never bothered me one bit! I used to do 500+ miles a week in my M3.

I didnt mind as it was a joy to drive!

My Discovery TDI on the other hand used to piss me off because it was a bore to drive!

No, but I'd consider it more if I used my car more. If I used my car daily It'd probably be £80 a week on fuel, thats a good night out for me and I'd hate to spend it going to work and back or something equally dull and shit.

Likewise.

I notice everything that goes on. Pedestrians, signs, adverts, bad drivers, good drivers, the scenery, animals, the lot......

It scares me how un-observent people are, like the dappy bint who I sat behined for a mile yesterday in her TT, stupid sunglasses, weaving over 2 lanes (hence why i stayed behined her for a bit).

When I eventually passed her shaking my head, she actually jumped like she didn't know i was there. A loud exhaust, and a bright headlight shining right behined her, but she didn't know I was there, right in her mirrors.

This lakc of observation scares the hell out of me. Im so glad Donna is a good driver

I'm with Daimo I'm afraid, I don't go out my way to look at the price board BUT I notice it, the same way I notice signs and everything.

I dont want to look at it. Its a totally pointless exercise. Doesn't make me a bad driver

I'm so clever that when I drive I tend to concentrate on looking where I'm going rather than worrying about whether I can save 30p if I fill up at that garage over there.

4 petrol stations on the way home, all vary in price. I know which is generally the cheapest (by 4p per litre).

Its not bad driving, its simple common sense. Why pay more, on the same route, when you can pay less. Add it up over the year, and its a few free tanks of petrol.

Doesn't make you a bad driver, but shows your overall observation levels.

Ed - Well, rich boys don't need to worry about the small savings now do they Us common folk do.

I dont drive my car loads so dont really care about the fuel consumption hence getting a 3.5

it depends how many miles you do; I'm currently doing about 25,000 - 30,000 miles per year, at that sort of mileage it does concern me as I have to pay for approximately 2/3 of that.

20,000miles at 8.8mpl (40mpg) (assuming 113p/l Unleaded) is £2568.18

20,000 miles at 6.6mpl (30mpg) (assuming 113p/l unleaded) is £3424.24

Effectively costing £16 extra per week.

I'm currently getting 42.5mpg out of the A3

edit; saving nearly a £1000 over the Corsa which used to return 28mpg! That £1000 covers my snowboarding holiday and then some

I don't worry as such, but I am aware of it. I also go to the cheapest garage I can find, 111.9p for Shell 95. It's only 2 miles from my house, I doubt I'd go out my way to get cheaper.

I don't worry about it, but I do sort of keep track.

I have a monthly amount that I like to stick to with fuel. At the moment that amount is £100 of diesel which I don't like to drift over.

The VXR on the other hand will take £200 but that doesn't really bother me. So long as I don't spend way over what I've allowed I don't really mind.

I don't worry about it at all. I would rather have something proper than piss about in something halfarsed.

If you are arsed about fuel usage get anoither hobby imo, or get the bus or buy a milkfloat.

I don't give a flying fuck tbh. I only travel 15 miles to work so it doesn't bother me in the slightest.
