Depends, lots of areas.

Destructional power, proably the B1B or B52 for sheer payload.

Most effective at combat? Mig29, F15/F16, Eurofighter.

Best at blowing up specific ground targets? A10 Thunderbolt.

Lotsof planes for different tasks really.

Best for long bombing runs over the falklands - Vulcan B2 which were 4 months from beeing scrapped and had bits of angle iron welded to them to hold jamming pods etc, it was like the RAF went all scrap heap challange to compete the longest bombing run in history

personally, I have never been a big fan of military aircraft, so it will be one of these beasts:

Lockheed Tristar 500 with the RR RB211-524 engines. Sweetest sounding turbofan ever

Superb aircraft, and SO jealous that its back on the airshow circuit in the UK and I wont get to see it

correct.

My grandfather was a technician for design at Hatfield Aerodrome for years. Worked on the original De Havilland Comet and the 4c, the most beautiful plane ever built

then Hawker Siddeley with the Trident, possibly the ugliest haha. Check the offset front landing gear

And then for British Aerospace with the 146 - the only jet for YEARS to operate out of London City

I too remember thinking the SR-71 was a smaller sized replica when I saw it at Duxford. Its smaller than I thought it would be after seeing pictures.

2) the argies had bought swiss anti aircraft guns so would have been able to shoot down high attitude aircraft
