He speaks sense. Good education usually equals good pay later on in life. Try and get work exp into the field of work you want to go into, it may be not paid but will be more benefical. Under 18's are going to be on something like £3.70 odd because thats the minimum wage but its still money I guess.

Whole life ahead of you mate. If I was 16 again I'd be doing my best to get offshore! e.g. college courses / appreticeships.

16 for McDs 21 for some chip shops for insurance reasons..


bullshit! I've worked in a Chippy since I was 16, my bosses have worked at loads of different chippies and never said this!

Find a good chippy and all your mates will want a job there! I was getting really good money for 16 (£6 an hour)

TBH, there is plenty of jobs around, I never have a problem finding work, I turn down more work than I take on! I had been known to have 3 jobs at once work 60+ hours during the summer holidays! (at 17)

At 16 I got a job working as a catering assistant in the café at Windsor Leisure Pool.

£3.20 per hour. Oh yes!

Not that many, was on a trainers wage [really low; I can't even remember how much it was].
Was just BS as they were supposed to be training me and dropped me in work straight from college and that was right into to their busiest hour until closing time. Was not benifitting my coursework, to say the least, and I was sometimes late as I had to finish college at half 3, get home and be at work for about 4.15. I mean seriously, the bus took 35 mins, I had to get in, get changed and walk to work. wtf. gay. wasn't worth the hassle.
