Just to add my 2 cents in to this....
I was with someone for about 18months when I was young and thought it was more than it was, we both did - were just kids though. I ended that and think I fucked her up a fair bit for a while.
Was then with someone for about 7yrs or so, was def love and both felt it. Think we both expected that to last but we kind of fell in to being more like friends than anything else so was more of a mutual ending. That was shitty but dont think either of us were broken hearted as had realised we werent going to be together for a while before we actually split.
Now with someone else, first proper relationship since the big one above. Not sure how its going to go but its all good so far.

I was in love with the ex and was all up for her being the one until she found someone else she ended it and went straight into another relationship now... i say i love her when she says it to me but i wouldnt say i love her as i loved becky and at the same time im not taking this overly seriously just incase it happens again (she finds someone else).
Id say love is different in each relationship you have you will never love someone like you loved the previous one or so people keep telling me
better to have loved and lost i suppose would be my answer to the thread as when you are 'in love' its great its just when it ends its a bitch
