its getting stupid, not just vauxhall either.

its the whole trend of today really, sling on some gimmicks, call it special edition, hike the price up, i now see cars the same as tv's, ipods, etc.

its the way forward.

look at the iphone. the next one they can keep it exactly the same but with a bigger camera and better video recording. everyone will get hardons and buy it.

To be fair I think the roof is ace but the car on the whole is looking really dated. I'd hate to buy a car brand new that looked so dated.

It's been around for 5 years, just got long in the tooth. Doesn't look dated.

Yes James, so dated. I mean people need a way to slink, not just get in and out. So 2005

I test drove a Scirocco with one of those panoramic roof things & it was a bit strange to say the least.

Didnt like it, or the £1500 cost to have it fitted either. If you want to see clouds get a pissing convertible

I think it looks good. There will be plenty of deals on it as well.

The panoramic windscreen is odd though. I've been in an astra with one before and I felt like my head was very near to it, almost like being stuck in a goldfish bowl

ffs, they are milking it now...

Vauxhall will be back into racing again soon, you watch. It's just whilst the climate 'stabilises'.

As for this car...what makes it different to the Nurburg? Because they say that its a 'Special Edition' everyone jumps at it and they manage to bloody sell em

Not a fan of the new astra either tbh...looks horrible and is feckin HUUUGE!! Ah well...i dont have to own one so not bothered.

Some of you are moaning but crap like this is where car companies make decent money. I think its better for them to release 'pointless' limited editions and have more money to put into new cars or just keeping the company going if you buy the whole recession thing.

i think people are missing the point of it.

vauxhall more than likely have loads of shells/parts left for this model astra and need to get rid of them.

creating a ''special edition'' means they can get rid of them without losing money.

very good marketing and all manufaturers do it.

i like the panoramic roof but where to the sunvisors go? or is it tinted or something?
