This excuse of Jay not being banned because people need to get in touch with him is bollocks imo, everyone that has dealings with him has his number/address etc and even when they do get hold of him on here its nothing but abuse that gets thrown about.
Getting banned for personal attacks on here is a fukin joke, look at the amount of abuse in both of those thread by a lot of users, if that was the case everone of them would be banned from the site.

i dont think thats the case, its ian website, if he deems something offensive ect then he will ban. no doubt its a 24 hour ban tbh if its for 1 offensive pic. and like ian says if he bans jay then he would lose contact and no 1 will get their cash back

I have never read the rules before TBH but it is no doubt in relation to this?

Regular members - no porn, not even soft. This includes full nudity, nipples and anything more, sexually explicit images (ie. poses etc.) or images containing professional or paid models. No images which are designed to offend, ie. doctored images for personal attack etc. This is the same as typing insults and attracts the same ban in most cases. No images containing material which is repulsive, shocking, morbid or in bad taste. If in doubt, it probably is. Don't post.
All of the above will be removed from posts. Repeated posting is a ban. Images which are blatently offensive or very pornographic is a ban.
Premium Members - any of this in garages is a ban! Images will be removed from garages at my discretion.

Now, I could be a finicky sod and point out that Jack is a premium member and by the wording of that post it imples that any of that posted in garages is a ban, he posted it on the boards!
The wording should be changed to say about normal boards and Premium Lounge in my opinion as it is a bit misleading.
Note that the wording also says about abusive posts so by seeing them being allow to slide on here I don't see why he would think that the rules would be strongly administered for a jokey doctored picture?
It does seem extremely harsh and Ian normally gets it absolutely bang on. Assuming it is a permanent ban and not a 'gag' then I would say he hasn't on this occasion! Surely a PM asking him to remove it or pointing out conduct would have been more apt?

I could understand if it was a genuine penis he had put on the image as it could cost people their jobs without a warning on the post but it was a cartoon sodding dick for fucks sake?

Yet the porn pic that jay had in his garage warranted nothing? I'm normally in agreement with ian and his banning, but not this time !

You can deal with the u2us and emails on my behalf if you wish. Or perhaps you already are as you seem to know what is going on?

The ban was because of the abuse, not because of the picture or where it was hosted.
If you've any other instances of abuse that you would like to report, please do so. I generally only act on complaints because it's difficult to tell how the other person feels about it and I don't want to take humour the wrong way. This wasn't humour.

I would at least make a new user category, called "Dodgy" Make them able to view the whole board, apart from staff and premium. Make the category unable to post in classifieds, and then stick all the dodgy people in the category... will stop them getting into more trouble on the boards, and save time for you.

I want more control like that but it needs programming. I had hoped that a red message would be enough but evidently not.
Do also bear in mind that people with the red message also stalk me to get it removed. I would imagine being put in a dodgy category would be met with the same levels of objection.

Stick the forum on IPB or VB and be done with it, loads of control then
If they were in a dodgy category, they'd be in it for a reason, so if they object, then they need to proove themselves honest.
Would save a lot of time and effort for you, people are thick on here and will buy off anybody, some are just crap with computers and others take a risk... they wouldn't be able to if you cut the link off from classifieds.
You've got mods and organisers, surely you set them up in a way like this?

This is what the u2us normally contain, I get daily updates on who Jay has supposedly paid back that day but it all needs verifying because I don't take his word for it.
Any contact at all is bad and I do try and reduce it. The hope is that people would be able to stand on their own two feet and deal direct but that is a little unrealistic.
