I don't see how a fuel pump would prime when you unlock the car. No feed until ignition is on
I also leave most of the lights to go off on the dash, might not do anything but no harm in letting it do it's stuff first

It wouldn't...
You can hear the fuel pump priming when you turn on the ignition and the dials are moving.
Obviously the dials do nothing, but if you use them ear things and listen, you can hear the pump.
Hence why you should let the dials flicker as a time indication.
Doesn't start very well if starting it straight away, and tbh, for 3 seconds, its hardly an effort is it.

My Astra does, although it's not a VXR.

Fuel pump primes the minute you unlock the door on the VXR you nutcases.
Because when I have the fob in my pocket and open the door I can get straight in and press the START button and it starts up while the dials are doing their thing.
YA GET ME?

Deffo not on ours. Primes when ignition is on.

I can't remember if it's different on keyless models, I don't ever remember having to wait for the dials to do that thing they do before starting it.

Not got the push start. Interesting differences possibly?
So you tap unlock, and you hear the fuel pump prime automatically? Ours doesn't, but ours is the 1st year of VXR's and they made many changes as they went along the years.

Even in the offchance it doesn't do it on yours it does it on most cars now, so I'll still not look like a fool who didn't know it happened at all.
I've not got open and start, I can't see the ECU's being that different.

I've got push button start/keyless etc etc but when I press the ignition on I can hear the fuel pump priming.
