Actually, don't get a sports 125.

Get something small, and as cheap as possible, CG125 or something.

No point spending a lot of money on a hairdryer, that your only going to replace in 6 months when you get bored and want a full licence.

Friend done the same, got some experience riding into the city over winter, and this weekend we collect him a nice little Fazer 600.

Something small, cheap, can be drops and tinkered around with. Get full licence, get a bigger bike.

1000cc = Unless your a racer, theres really no point.

Jealousy??? When I own what I do.... Whatever

1000cc bikes are mental machines these days, 170+bhp and speeds over 180mph.

Please tell me when you can use that on the road? Like owning a Ferrari Enzo and going for a weekend bimble.

Sure on track, but 1000cc on the roads is mental. No doubt i'll own one, but I can be assured that 90%+ of riders who own a 1000cc couldn't even get anywhere near its limits.

Plus you can easily loose your license in 1st...

No-one really needs a 1000cc on the road. Having the choice is a difference matter

tbh, I have just as much fun on my 650cc work hack, and I can generally ride it faster on the road.

Most people wont get to the limit of a 600 let alone a 1000!

As i put in my post on the previous page! VXR is spot on, a cheap runner will be better than a 2 stroke screamer when its not needed!

Remember ladies and gentlemen, fastest is not always best!

Honestly, go cheap and cheerfull on the 125. It won't be staying with you long as you'll soon realise you want a full license.

get a cheap 125, then use the money you've saved to do your full license in say 6 months when your bored of the 125. Then you can use any money you have left to get a nicer proper bike.

I know of a 125cc Suzuki VanVan up for sale My friend went down the cheap 125 for work route, and has now taken his full test, and collectshis bike tomorrow.

All that from someone that wasn't interested in bikes at all, and jsut wanted to get to work cheaply instead of the train. And here he si with a nice little 600cc Fazer.

Go cheap to start with.

then we'll give you advice on big boys bikes

haha well dude it aint for me
its for the mrs
so i think it will be a long time befor shes running on a 600
and when she is im makeing sure she get a good one (as i will be on the insurance)
and being that she isnt the most confident of drivers i think it may take her a while to get used to bikes
so i think that 125 is going to be staying around for a year or so

In which case she REALLY doesn't want a sporty 125.

CG125 or similar would be perfect. Comfy, small, light, cheap, 90mpg, get you confidence then move up whenever.

Did it make you feel good as you went past at 28mph?

Add another 0 to the end of 50 and we're talking

Come on Olly, when you gonna turn into a real man and take your full license. Im quite suprised you haven't yet.

Because I'm not interested in it, my 125cc does 70mph and that's enough for me.

I say I'm not interested I am, but I want an Aprilia either a 250cc or an RSV4

So one that is going to cost me a fortune to rebuild and maintain or a bike thats going to cost me a fortune.

Seriously no other bikes interest me, maybe the new Ninja.

Seriously? No other bikes interest you? Looks are boring, not keen on IL4 sound/power delivery?

Theres so many variations of bikes. I think you should do it. You enjoy bikes, it makes sense

Do it, stop being a girl.

Sort of style dos she want to go for? Lie over tank or sit bolt up.

If she does sit bolt up, don't get a Derbi Senda SM. I had so much trouble with the exhaust flange.

she likes bikes that you can see the frame work on
shes not to into the sort of super bike look with plastic everywhere
shes more into things like most yamaha's where you can see the metal frameing and engine easily if that makes sence?

Oh yeash, where do I start with nakeds.

Fast becoming the most popular form of bikes on the road as they are so easy to ride, and generally you can ride them faster than a sportbike on the road anyway.

Pics of bird on bike Well it had to be asked...

Things to aim for in the future years...

Aprilia Tuono
MV Agusta Brutale
Benelli TNT
And some Hondas, Suzukis and other jap stuff
