I would still wait until after europe though
> You know the gsi and whats what, the coupe will be a bit unknown reliability wise
>you own both so keeping both for a little longer wont cost you anything
What exhaust have you got, could do to pipe craft in basildon and get a centre box added. They do really good work
Drives supercharged Tec with torque

Sell the gsi, run the coupe
Where ever this euro trip is taking you, your not really for any lenght of time going to be able to drive any faster in the gsi than you would the coupe
Also me a willay have done a few fully loaded 1.8 euro trips and its been fine, remember its not the gumball your touring round countries
Also pmsl at house elitism

Warren - i feel your pain on the fuel front. At the moment is costing me a pretty penny to keep it running. Its depressing me at the moment how much i am actually spending on fuel alone.

1.8.
GSI isn't that great, nor that fast a car really.
Go comfy economy mode, use the bike more and make fuel savings there.
Then sell both the astras, and get something more fun, and faster.
Whilst the GSi is an alright car, its nothing to get hung up about.

my exact feelings on the gsi, its comfy looks nice, and is quite quick in the straight line
But drinks fuel, and at the moment i have no real need for it, i need to save money in fuel bills....
if i wanted fun, iv got the bike or corsa
well i had fun this morning in the wet siding about on the ktm, just trying to accerate slowly, got done my a 125 scooter, as just couldnt get grip!

driving normaly,
try low 20's if having a bit of boost, done 1/4 of a tank in 15mins flat out
why have a fast car and have to drive it slow
petrol costs have made a big effect too

Exactly, if you want to go fast, use the bike.
Get something cheap and silly to run around in, or do the opposite and get something lairy and stupid.
tbh, the astra is an ok car, but its neither of these. Lets face it though, 33mpg is ruddy awful really. Donnas astra runs average of 27mpg (6mpg top speeds ).
A derv is not much better unless your doing a lot of motorway miles, where the derv comes into its own.
Might as well get a piddy 1.0. And a GSXR1000

1989 Nissan Micra 1.0?
Actually, theose cars are great fun. Awful, but great fun at being awful.
I can beat it.
Nissan Sunny/Primera 1.6 petrol. If the indians haven't worn the floor out through family numbers, then it should go on forever and be cheap?

i know a big NA engine sounds bad for fuel consumption, but because they are "lazy" engines they aren't working.
i can easy get 32-35mpg in the VR6
