Its the same on audi-sport. When you say you are on longlife servicing there is always a load of them saying they dont trust Audi and they change their oil at some ridiculously low mileage.

But if me engine went pop, I would make sure vauxhall replaced it for free as we're going by their servicing standards.

Doesn't matter if its been idling for 20,000 miles, or thrashed, its their recommendend, as as its gfone to Vauxhall every service, it would be covered.

So it it goes bang, pffff, 0 mileage engine replacement thankyouverymuch

Just because something has a 12k mile service interval for oil changes doesn't mean it is the optimum point to do an oil change, FAR from it.

Ah yes the classic dark oil 'rule' Im sorry i shouldn't laugh, its people like you that keep me in a job.

If it was some highly strung performance engine fair enough, but its a Corsa, its a mass produced underpowered engine designed to be driven by people that would never want to open the bonnet.

Oil goes dark after about 5 miles, should I start changing my oil every day?

I would suggest that you know about the same as quick-fit boy above you. Do you know why oil darkens?

The first thing I do when I buy a new car is to drop the oi when it is hot (do not use a flushing oil), then remove the sump and wash that out with petrol. I have done that on a car with over 100k on it, 3k later the oil was still golden.

Quite how that keeps quick fit boy in a job I will never know, unless he is part of the supply chain for trade price oil supply?

Fuck removing a sump every time you get a new car. Complete overkill.

Mine gets done once a year which is usually 5-6,000 miles.

You do know that on a diesel the oil goes black within a few mins of starting the engine, make the sump as shiny as you like inside it will still happen

mine gets serviced every 18k like Fiat say, I change the oil and filter inbetween that though due to re mappage

and on another note my dad bought his fiat doblo van with 65k on it in 2005 its now on 135k and has never had a thing done to it, the oil light came on one day so it got 5 litres of fresh oil that day, that was in about 2008

I always forget diesels, they just don't appeal so don't enter my mindset. I don't want a car that sounds like a skeleton having a wank in a biscuit tin.

It would be like walking into a brothel wanting a 6 foot blonde with big tits and a tight pussy, only to compromise and take the smelly guy with stunted growth and a clef palate because it's better on my pocket. No thanks.

Dunno how long the service intervals are on my Mazda. But I'm about to go do an oil and filter change for the Ring as it's going to be getting some abuse. I try and do it every 10k minimum plus whatever the proper service intervals are
