You could be one of those guys that drive round in the golf kart collecting golf balls, that looks pretty fun with an element of danger

You wanna do a job where there is a risk of being killed for £25k?

It would have to be comfortably into six figures for me consider it.

25k isnt alot at all imo, im workin 8 til half 4 mon to fri onshore just now training and getting a basic salary of 30k then when I go offshore I get a day rate on top of that

The only unskilled work out here is a steward & I wouldnt do what they do.

Likes of Shotblasters, scaff's, NDT/abseil & painters are well over subscribed, you'd probably need to spend a fortune on getting offshore spacific qualifications & have some experience to be in with a shout.

Im doing yerars of training & more qualifications than you could shake a stick at to be a technician.

Its not really an easy industry to get into I know loads of people that have been trying for years.

I get a lot of leads for work in the middle east on airport projects - not sure what range of roles they've got out there but I can have a word if you like.

Have you thought about rope access/high access work as well? Even if it's cleaning windows you can earn a fair amount.

I would have thought you would need a trade ( fitter, welder, rigger, spark ect) to land a job on the rigs.

Get a loan. Do your HGV's up to HGV1, then to the test that enables you to pull tankers with petrol/hazardous substances.

40k + is easily achived.

or

Find a job in an engineering firm just running machines, then work up to be a setter etc.

cant believe you would consider 25k with the risk of being killed

Most high risk jobs will require high end skill

I would try and get into an engineering firm where you can learn a trade

if you earn 13k then an engineering firm of a given size wiould take you on and train you and still pay more than 13k
