My mate had a 2003 s4 it was quick but not as quick as you would expect I suppose the 4wd saps a fair bit of grunt, the noise it made was lovely though, my friend compares my 540 to feel very simar power wise, for the money i don't think they are that good of a car it ould have to be a m3 for me every time.

M3 or M5
I love S4s (and I remember it beating the M3 on Top Gear), but would still go for the E46 M3

It didn't beat it on top gear lol, it did better round the corners but In a straight line the m3 had it
