Yeah Ilfracombe is nice I'm staying with my cousin for a long weekend in August and they're pretty much in the middle between Barnstaple and Ilfracombe so I'll probably be going there a couple of times

Been there done that mate Btw, did you go to Witney motor show? I didn't know when it was on so missed it

Weston-Super-Mare sounds cool and the Haynes museum looks good, could be on to something there

Fair enough. I went to one before, last year's I think it was. I'm going to try and remember next year Seeing as it's only £2 to get in and there are some cars and things to look at, it's not all bad imo

tbh the best part of a holiday is getting away from British people, British media, British telly, and everything else that makes it a chore to live here. It's not really a holiday if you're still in the UK.

(IMO of course)

I'd go with that normally, and usually I'd go abroad or not go anywhere. But my eyes were well and truely opened in North Devon. Could easily have been abroad. It was lovely.

Balls to the South. Full of people who can't talk proper. 'Scoones'? Get to fuck! Go to Liverpool, jump on the ferry over to the Isle of Man

New Lanark. Stay in one of the self catering water houses. Stunning scenery, great for walks. Also you're inbetween Edinburgh and Glasgow so can drive 2 either one for the day. Head to Edin and witness the most bizarre road known as the lang wang I believe?

Fair point Mr Tavern, but I don't have a passport so abroad is a bit tricky this year. Plus I don't really speak any other languages

Hugh Jeers - Well I'm from the south so I must not talk proper either

Joe Thanks for that, imo most of this country is a dump, hence this thread to look for the nice places, of which there are few

I'd venture further south if I was you Dave. Much nicer beaches and you'd still be near enough to Haynes
