Nope..you get no choice. You pay still but can't use your hosepipe!
What a joke.

I might go over to Haweswater and see if you can see Mardale village they flooded when they built the dam. In 2003 when there was a drought you could walk right down in to the village over the bridge. Quite weird. Dont think its got that low yet though.

I seriously would try though.
And tbh I can't see anyone getting a £1k fine. Its states "up to" £1k.

Btw...Water fight at my house on Saturday. Bring your own hosepipe. I'll get a 50 way tap connector.
Just off for my 8th shower of the day, then off to water the garden.

Bit of a piss take if you ask me considering how much rain + snow we had - surely thats all gone somewhere?
Yeah its pissed out of all the broken pipes that United Utilities cant be bothered to get off their arses to fix
Im sure its not that they "cant be bothered". You have to remember that most of the trunk mains are hundreds of years old. The money that the water boards get for repairs and things like this are set and governed by ofwat, and this year have been cut.
Also i bet you moan that such and such a water company are always digging up the roads, causing traffic jams etc

They'll stop your tap water, and sewage services too then

Ok not cant be bothered. They are slow.
Pipe bursts, they come out about 24 hours after its reported to have a look. Then they dont usually get out to fix them for another 2 days. Thats at least 3 days worth of water pissing out.
And thats only the pipes that have actually burst, not just leaking a bit under ground that no ones notices.

I cant speak for United but when we get a leak reported, an NST (network support Technician) goes and investigates usually within 12hours, and if it is on our trunk main, it is forwarded to contractors that sort out the repair. If its on customers property then its their responsibility.
Really stupid that we dont do our repairs now, but you know what companys are like; just get contractors to do everything.

Funniest thing is that I will use more filling buckets to rinse the car than I would by pressure washing it off!

Is that the one off by the snakes pass?
I well want to see that. I remember being a wee kid when my Dad drove up somewhere like that in his Lotus and you could see roof tops sticking out of the water. It's always interested me. I bet it would be ace for diving when full?

No Haweswater is in Cumbria fella. A few miles up a valley out of Shap.
I'm the same re: washing the car. It'll use just as much water if not more messing round with buckets as you cant direct the water the same!

LET Are you thinking of Ladybower? That has a flooded village as well - and I think one of them in the Goyt Valley does off the cat and Fiddle road.
Its weird, I live about 5/10miles from the border with United Utilities, and I can use as much water as I want because we're severn Trent. They've said our local resevoir is running low but they're moving water around from other resevoirs to keep the supply up

Wow, banning you for using a hosepipe?
What about those gay garden sprinklers? Sales will go down now
As if anybody will give a shit about the ban.
