Mainly because they fuck up very quickly & need lots of work to be kept good!

this
as soon as they start corroding they make the car look like a shed no matter how clean it is
csls are winter wheels but i have them on at the min as i like the look, i think ill have to polish mine over the winter as they do look tasty, ready for next summer

I'll be selling the CSL's if I can get a reasonable amount for them, if not i'll just box them up & keep them in the loft until such times that I get a E92.

colin got rid of the old lacquer with nitro mors, then they were cut bact to rmove corrosion and then polished up on a orbital polisher/da polisher, going up through the polish grades from coarse to super fine.
something like tht anyway, no idea how much he paid

I was thinking a ballpark figure of at least £500 for all 4, the amount of time spent on them if they've been semi-hand polished surely would have been mental?

Colin I hate you, I thought it might have been a wee blacksmith in a shop you took advantage of seeing as you're from the sticks take it my estimate was a bit closer?

You should, they look a bit mental when polished!!

Hmmm takin it to the same place but Jades cousin will be doing it, not the young oik that mashed my CSL rim.

There is a guide on cutters, I cant seem to find it though but the way you described below sounds about right!!

This is where i learnt to do it
http://www.bradleysmart.co.uk/Category241/WheelRepairalloy.aspx

and this was the machine i learnt on, looks like the guy uses similar products but on a free hand polisher rather than a "lathe set up" where the wheel spins one way and the polisher the other, is much quicker.

I did the rims of my nova wheels on it.
My old place sold it for £500 i wish i bought it now
