He probably had the doors locked so they couldnt get him out the car. Only other option, smash the windows to get to the locks to get him out!

Not sure what the reason is for kicking in a windscreen in that situation. Drivers side yes to gain access to locks/keys/person, but windscreen is a bit "eh?"

well im pretty sure cop cars have the safety glass smasher things that have the seatbelt cutters on the other side.

1simple blow with one of those and jobs a goodun.

standin on top of a range rover and kicking an oap windscreen is retarded

if the oap was any real threat he could of drove off. pretty sure lil twat cop vs 2 tons of 4x4 will lose.

i agree 10000% with laura.

i was at the gym the other day, and was sat in the hydrapool, it was empty apart from me and my 2 mates. an old codger came in, asked us too move because he wanted to go where we were. so i said no, and he said we have no respect and we were troublesome young people.

i then reminded him on that we all work full time, and so we pay to live as we do. i also pointed out that we pay full cost gym membership, whereas he pays an OAP rate, so i said we have as much right to be there as him. he got out and we thought nothing of it.

BUT, the wrinkly old cocoon movie reject, then goes and complains about us, the gym manager liam comes over to us with a bewildered look, and looks at him, and says "whats the complaint". old guy says we wont move, and the gym manager looks at him and asked him what right he had to ask us too move!! i loved it.

old people give themselves a bad name, by being whinging miserable efforts.

on the flip side, my granddad is 74,and he acts like he is 25. has a laugh with us all, as he has always employed young lads in his business so he has always been around young people, so he has stayed young at heart i reckon.

Right - from a police perspective - routine stop for motoring offences- do many ever day - driver decides to drive off - this then becomes a pursuit. followed by Police with lights and sirens for 8 yes 8 miles without stopping. Only pulls over when gets to Stinger site. Officers do not know if he is going to ram them or drive off or comply. The windows were tinted, making them harder to smash. Windows don't go in that easily despite what the movies say. We carry Lifehammers but it's not always to hand and they didnt know what he was going to do. The windscreen is put though to distract the driver and make it harder for him to drive off if he decided to do so.

Whilst the media play the 'poor, ill pensioner' routine, they never show the ones where Police do exactly the same to criminals who fail to stop. They are out to sensationalise it. In that situation, officers make a call, and every action they take has to be justified.

The smashing the windows will be to disorientate the driver, to reduce the chances of them trying to escape or reach for any weapons.

You've seen it on Road Wars and the like, they often do it to scrotes who fail to stop.

I've read the full story, he got stopped for no seatbelt, then thought the cops were done talking and drove away, the cops were not done so chased him. The cops chased him for quite a while with blues and twos and the old guy said that he thought he was getting a police escort home , so obviously the cops got annoyed that he wasn't stopping so went mental at the end.

There "pensioners" know exactly what they are up to, cunning little fucks.. then play the "oh but im old" card when caught.

Like when your in a shop, and some old burd just decides to stand in from of you in the que..and they think because they are old you will just let them get on with it...no..get right to the end of the fucking que you deluded old boot.

My guess is the "pensioner" driving the big old range rover was at it..and wouldnt just open the door to the police..

throw him in jail and let him die.

fucking old bastards.
